Memberships and Certifications

Jessica Kopas, who has practiced law since 2003, has served as a partner at two major South Florida law firms, gaining a broad experience in commercial litigation, including complex business litigation. Her background includes working with organizations of all sizes in a wide variety of situations.

Her experience covers handling a number of high-profile cases. One case involved a nationally publicized billion-dollar South Florida Ponzi scheme centered around falsified structured settlements. Her extensive trial background covers the areas of business torts, complex business fraud, breach of fiduciary duty litigation, probate litigation, and bankruptcy and creditors’ rights.

Over the course of her practice, Kopas has advocated for the interests of her clients, ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, in a wide variety of disputes both in and out of court. She has appeared before state, federal district and federal bankruptcy courts in Florida and other jurisdictions. She also has participated in mediations and other forms of alternative dispute resolution, including accomplishing complex settlement agreements as alternatives to trial.

Committed to giving back to the community where she practices, Kopas has taken the time to become certified by The University of South Florida Muma College of Business in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, a rigorous seven-week program designed to educate business and community leaders on the essential practices and tools designed to increase employee diversity and create a business model that embraces equity and inclusion. A member of the prestigious United Way of Broward Tocqueville Society, she is passionate about making a difference in the community. She gives back to young attorneys through Moot Court high school competitions and supports with both her time and resources United Way programs helping veterans, families and others in need. Kopas is a proud recipient of the 2023 March of Dimes Women of Distinction Honor.
